Leslie earned her Master's degree in Clinical Health Psychology from the University of Michigan in Dearborn. Leslie has provided outpatient psychotherapy in primary care settings and private settings and private practice with adults and teens, and has clinical research experience with pediatric anxiety disorders. She has also provided smoking cessation counseling for individuals and groups. Leslie works with individuals with depression, anxiety, trauma, OCD, ADHD, and adjustment issues. She also specializes in helping individuals with chronic health conditions, focusing on the relationship between physical and emotional health. Leslie uses cognitive, motivational, strengths-based, supportive, and solution-focused modalities in her work with clients. Leslie enjoys helping people better understand their emotions and behaviors, and to help people achieve wellness.
Jill is a licensed clinical social worker who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Social work from Grand Valley State University. In addition to working at Life Skills Psychological Services, Jill is an infant mental health specialist home based clinician with Community Mental Health for Central Michigan. Jill's experience includes working with pregnant moms, infants, adults, all age children and families, including services in the home, schools, court system and community. Jill is endorsed through the Michigan Association of Infant Mental Health and has a strong back ground in child development trauma, domestic violence, individual and family conflict. Jill aims to create a safe, supportive, empathic and validating environment for the clients that she sees and has a strong commitment to helping those who are struggling.
Scott received a Bachelor of Science degree from Calvin College, Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Michigan and Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University, and he is currently finishing a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Health Psychology. He served as a staff therapist in various medical settings including chronic pain, rehabilitation, primary care, psychiatry, bariatrics, as well as other settings including his church and an organization serving abused and neglected children. Scott's professional interest is Clinical Health Psychology, the promotion and maintenance of health and the prevention and treatment of acute and chronic illness and disability. In Health Psychology, clients first learn how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and social, and biological factors influence their health and/or disease. Second, clients are assisted and encouraged in their efforts to change. He also has training in the treatment of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and family and marriage therapy. Scott and his wife, Kathy, have five children and seven grandsons. He enjoys bicycling, reading, and family activities.
Nathanael Stephens, M.A. is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Michigan. He is a doctoral candidate in Counseling Psychology at Andrews University. He has researched workplace burnout in ministers. Nathanael has experience working with people of various ethnic and diverse backgrounds and has worked with the hearing impaired and is fluent in American Sign Language. Nathanael has experience working with people who struggle with addiction, depression, anxiety and sleep disorders. Additionally, Nathanael has had training in Gottman couples therapy.
